Hi everyone, thank you so much for all your support and getting me to 500 subscribers!! This time last week I had about 20 so the growth has been crazy!
In celebration, I thought I’d share some behind the scenes photos from the Hate Yourself music video.
[photo 1:] the character models had wire skeletons inside to help with movements and the heads were made from polystyrene. Most were just balls I bought but I carved skulls for both the red girls out of a big blue chuck (which is what the small bit above her head is showing). I did it this way so the models aren’t too top heavy, otherwise they’d be falling over all the time.
[photo 2:] my scruffy storyboards! I’m really good at visualising so I honestly only drew about half a storyboard and just calculated what frame number each action should happen for the rest lol.
[photos 3 - 5:] photos during filming - I made this whole thing in a spare room in my house and had to be really resourceful, hence why ‘tripod’ was either a music stand or whatever junk I could find lying around (old DS games, a broken clock etc.) blu tacked together to hold my phone. But I think it just shows that you don’t need professional equipment to be a stop motion animator :)
This has been a lovely project to work on for the past few months. I got exams coming up so I have to slow down on the animating for the next month but there will 100% be more animations coming out this summer :)
Home to some neat little animations.
The sunflower alien thingy is named Dawnie.
Software I use:
FlipaClip
Stop Motion Studio
Adobe Premiere Pro (until I leave Sixth Form and lose access to it 😢)
