I use my channel largely as a playlist, for myself and hopefully a few others who share my interests. The background photo I took with a basic Panasonic Lumix digital camera during a leisurely hike in Yosemite National Park, California, along the famed Mirror Lake trail on the stretch from North Pines campground to Mirror Lake. The happy combination of stone, water, and muscled yet dead tree branch struck me as supremely balanced. Upon returning to this spot in July of 2014 I noticed that the tree branch (or is it a trunk?) remained in precisely the same spot, resting in the same orientation as before. Somehow that fact comforted me.
