Unfortunately today I won't be able to upload an episode of Not Your Average Globetrotter, if all goes to plan though I do hope to be able to publish a little something tomorrow. But in the meantime, I wanted to share a new YouTube channel that my friend ‪@madamarchaeologist‬ started. If you're like me and enjoy content about history and love to learn about different topics definitely check out the video I'll be sharing below this post.

She just started uploading recently and her second video just went up today, form what I hear, she'll be uploading on Fridays, so not only will you have Not Your Average Globetrotter to tune into (normally) but you'll be able to check out the latest from ‪@madamarchaeologist‬ as well.

Wishing ‪@madamarchaeologist‬ all the best on her project! watch video on watch page

Just like in the autumn the leaves let go of their color and their leaves, they fall and blow away. Sometimes in life you have to let your leaves fall and get yourself ready for a new season in life. New bright colors, vibrant experiences and enjoy the gentle breeze.

Life is always moving forward. Progression is isn’t an option, it’s the default… Although, sometimes the best way to take a step forward is by first moving to take a step back…

How far in advance do you book your international travel? For example if you were going to take a trip to Europe from North America (or from wherever to another distant location).

Another year around the sun, another chance for a bit more fun. Another year older, and hopefully a little wiser taking life one day at a time and appreciating every moment, learning from both the highs and lows to keep the trajectory of life going in the right direction. I’m so grateful for the people I have in my life and often think about how much has changed in my life since leaving the U.S. all those years ago. Almost half of my life outside my birth country and what an adventure it’s been. Looking forward to see how the journey continues 😁

Location: Braga, Portugal
During the Braga Romana Festival

I recently took this photo and posted it the other day on Instagram and Facebook. Immediately after taking it, I knew I wanted a print of it, it’s been a while since I’ve printed any of my photos… and it just so happens that I wasn’t the only one who wanted to frame this photo and put it on my wall. This one is going to stay with me but I received a private message with an order for a print, and there’s now another in process to be shipped to its new home on the other side of the world 😁🥳 I’ll admit I’m a bit excited like a proud parent sending their kid off to college 😜 I don’t normally sell prints of my work, but if you’re interested in having this on your wall too feel free to contact me 📸

“🎼Moving at the speed of life🎶”
Something I’ve been quite pleasantly surprised by is the pace of life here in Braga. A balance between being able to lay back and enjoy time here but also be able to keep moving forward in life. Of course living in Braga will differ from other areas that a person might find themselves in while living in Portugal…but while I hear many complaints from some who are just getting used to the way things are done in southern Europe and how they might find things to be slow or less efficient here in comparison to what they might be used to… I can say I’m often surprised by how fast and easy it can be to get things done here. Having lived in a few different countries I can say that I have my favorite places in each place, but there’s just something unique about this city. I’m not saying that people should pack up their bags and move to Braga or let alone move to Portugal….
however, understanding the realities of any destination will help you to have a better experience and easier transition into life where you live. While I won’t say Braga is absolutely perfect (nor would I say that about any city 😜), I will say I feel fortunate to call it home 😁
