Working on some Damascus knives

Grain structure of snapped off knife blade, 52100 and 15N20 Damascus pattern welded steel. Ballpoint pen for size comparison.
Interestingly enough, you can see along the top side of the piece of steel where it looks rougher, where the steel pulled apart. The pressure of the break was from that side, as I snapped off a clean piece for the photo.

It was such a pretty blade... I pushed it too far in the post quench straightening.
