Marcus B. Weaver-Hightower is Professor in Foundations of Education at Virginia Tech (formerly of the University of North Dakota). His research focuses on boysâ education debates internationally, masculinity studies, qualitative research methods, food politics, using comics and graphic novels in research, and the politics and sociology of education and policy. He is a former high school English teacher and the author of numerous articles and books, including How to Write Qualitative Research (Routledge, 2019), Unpacking School Lunch: Understanding the Hidden Politics of School Food (Palgrave, 2022), and The Politics of Policy in Boysâ Education: Getting Boys âRightâ (Palgrave Macmillan, 2008). He was a Fulbright scholar to Australia in 2003, and he has won numerous awards for his research and teaching.
