You must endure the person who grieves you and puts you to the test. Endure him with joy. Pray for him every day. Always strive to do good for him, to praise him, to speak with him in love, and God will work a miracle—he will change. Then Christ will be glorified, while the devil, who sets every stumbling block, will be exposed.

Your rule should be to pray one prayer rope daily for the person who hates you, so that God may enlighten him to repentance. In addition, make ten prostrations every day for the next month. Let injustice be done to you, but do not commit injustice. Let them strike you, but do not strike back. Let them condemn you, but do not condemn. When you do all this, then the Son of God, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, will dwell in your heart. Fight the good fight (1 Tim. 6:12) and disregard that person’s actions, so that Christ may disregard your sins.

For 19 years Patriarch of Jerusalem Diodore I received the Holy Fire: “There is no question for me… I know that it's real.”
“When all the lights go out, I bend over and enter the front entrance of the Grave. From there in the dark I find my way into the inner alley...
There I bow my knees with sacred fear and... I say certain prayers handed down to us through centuries and I wait. Sometimes the wait lasts for a few minutes, but usually the miracle happens immediately after the prayers have been said.
From the bowels of the stone on
which the Body of Christ lay, comes an indescribable Light. Usually it is a blue tint, however the color may change... Every year he comes different. Sometimes it only covers the coffin stove, sometimes it fills the coffin with light so that people standing outside... they see that the room is filled with Light.
This light does not burn. In all 19 years of my patriarchate in Jerusalem, I have never burned my beard while receiving the Light...
At a certain place, this Light rises up, forming a pillar whose flame has a different nature, and so I can light my candles from it...
It's a miracle... makes the Resurrection of Christ so alive for us, as if it happened only a few years ago ... I have been living in Jerusalem since 1939, since I came to the city at the age of 15. All these years, I have attended the service of the descent of the Holy Light and witnessed the miracle 61 times. There is no question for me whether I believe in a miracle or not. I know that it's real".
