Hey folks, it's been awhile and I'm just checking in!

How are you faring out there? The world is nuts, and I hope you are all well and okay. I'm around (haven't gone anywhere, but also YouTube is awful these days). You'll probably see some more content from me soon.

Big Stuff coming. I've got 3 book releases by the end of this year, including a RE-ISSUE of The Caretaker with an additional 5-chapter epilogue that's going to set up Book TWO! Also, a hilarious space-comedy called (appropriately), "SPACE PEW PEW" that is set to launch this summer.

Lastly (but certainly not least) - a non-fiction book called JOY-JITSU (check my last vlog to see all about the "making of" on that one).

Basically, much going on, I just wanted to say hi and let you know I'm thinking of you all!

Best,

-David

Greetings Friends and Fellow Aliens!

I am indeed here though I've not uploaded a video in a hot minute. I have been frantically working to meet an editor deadline (and I just did!) for the NEXT book due out this summer: Joy-Jitsu!

This is a collaborative project with my great friends and incredible fellow humans, Kyle and Erik, ‪@BudoBrothers‬!

We have put together an amazing project that is going to get you thinking, inspired, and feeling rejuvenated and happy with an incredible roadmap bringing more joy into your life. It's a quick read, and a kind of storytelling/philosophy/reference book that is going to do some great things! This will be the start of what we hope is a lifelong journey for every reader.

The book covers these principles in depth with applicable tools, perspective and experience that you can apply:

Perseverance
Gratitude
Authenticity
Purpose
Growth
Balance
Creativity
Service

If you struggle with self-worth, confidence, sadness or simply giving yourself some grace and understanding, this project is for you! This book is a journey and has been an incredible experience to put to page. We are looking at doing a lot with Joy-Jitsu in the future!

I'm turning my attention to my FICTION works for the next 6 weeks in advance of heading to LibertyCon in Chattanooga TN in late June as one of the guest authors! There's a lot going on, look for a video update from me in the near future!

If you haven't already, head over to davidbadurina.com so you can connect with me on all the social media places as I typically stay more up to date on Twitter/Instagram.

Best to you, and hope to see you all in the comments very soon!

Greetings Friends and Fellow Aliens! 👽

Jax and I would like to wish you a happy and prosperous New Year! What are your goals for 2023?

Personally, I’m prioritizing writing, and the physical and mental health. And really, there’s no way to go but up, because we are both flattened by the Flu currently.

I have 2 books set to come out in 2023, with the sequel to The Caretaker being a possible 3rd later in the year. I have needed significant time to reset the past few months, and I am eager to reestablish and reconnect with many of you!

I hope you are well, happy, and looking to brighter days!

Happy New Year! 🥂

Hey Folks! I have a fun website re-design to show you! Check it out @ davidbadurina.com

Just about every image (except for, well, my picture) on the site was generated with MidJourney AI art. There's updates on my current projects (somehow, I am now working on THREE books, so that's not anxiety-inducing, thankyouverymuch). I've got links to the socials, and a bunch of information about the world of The Caretaker on there as well, featuring some pretty awesome imagery!

I have a ton percolating these days and this was one of those daunting tasks I wanted to get checked off the list. I still have a few kinks to work out (how it shows up on phone vs browser vs whatever) but I'd be honored if you checked it out!

Best to you all!

I have a challenging question for you that offers a simple Yes or No response.

Are you able to have a thoughtful/civil philosophical discussion on issues with an open-minded, chill person opposite you politically/culturally/ideologically?

Let's assume nobody here is a fringe cultist. Those individuals represent too small of a percentage. I'm talking every-day people with an opposing view.

************
I'm talking conversation-over-coffee one-on-one. So, let's assume everyone's chill for the purposes of this question. If you know YOU are not chill, your answer is No. If you assume anyone holding an opposing view from yours is NOT chill, your answer is No. See? Easy. If you throw "It depends" in the comments your answer is No. If you feel the need to explain/justify your capacity to engage in an exchange of thoughts and ideas with someone opposite you, just click "No."

Basically, if you are 99% Yes, your answer should be No. Absolutes with a caveat are not absolutes.

I know it's hard, but I believe in you. :-)

To illustrate more concrete examples for this thought experiment, imagine these scenarios:

Answering YES as a dyed-in-the-wool left-leaning individual means you can sit down and enjoy a thoughtful discussion on the issues with someone sporting a MAGA hat.

Answering YES as a capitalist means you'd have no issue spending an hour or two having a chat over some coffee with someone who supports more socialist views such as centralized/government run energy/healthcare industry.

Answering YES as a pro-life religious person means you'd be totally comfortable listening to the opposing views of someone who is very much pro-choice.

Answering YES as someone who believes guns should be banned and/or seized from citizens means you'd be happy to have an in-depth discussion over lunch with someone who is an open-carry-supporting 2nd Amendment enthusiast.

Greetings Friends and Fellow Aliens!

One of the core principles of life as an INFJ is being okay with change. Let me explain ...

As INFJs we often exhibit tendencies of seeking answers - to ourselves, and to life's big questions. In the last three years, I have changed drastically, trying to understand myself through the loss of both my brother and my father. I am a completely different human than I was when I started this channel. The INFJ is very much front and center, but I am less about personality theory these days, and more about living life by understanding that INFJ lurking in my brain. That shift in my mindset has been scary at times.

Part of moving forward is accepting who we are, developing an understanding of why we behave the way we do, and fighting tooth-and-nail toward growth as a person. You cannot do that without being honest with yourself. That honesty is hard, however. You see yourself changing, and then become afraid of what you might be changing into. Fear takes over under the guise of Fe. (What if people don't like me? What if I lose friends? Why have I lost passion for the things that I used to enjoy? Am I disappointing my friends and family by changing? etc. etc.)

This over-analyzation of your past-self is designed to put you in a safe, familiar place. It's your mind's defense mechanism throwing out legitimate fears as you hold tightly on to someone you once were, because the someone-you-could-be is unknown and quite possibly terrifying. The brain says, "Whoa whoa, hold on. Let's go back to this familiar place!" And that, my friends, is how you get stuck in patterns that do not serve you. Old paths that you've long since walked, that take you to the same place you've always ever been.

You're going to need to walk off that well-worn trail to experience the things you've only dreamed of.

This is the nature of change. Growth isn't easy - it is hard, dedicated work to hold yourself accountable for your mistakes and fears, and move forward as a result. Funny thing about growth though, you cannot grow sideways, and you cannot grow backwards. Growth is only possible when you are going forward, or up, and that takes effort and honesty, plunging headlong into the unknown with no idea of how things may work out.

I am in a growth space right now, and learning to ENJOY this process more than anything else. This process of shedding what I once was has turned into relief. Part of that is no longer staying silent about my principles, making the life I've been wanting to live, and writing the books I've been wanting to write.

Life is oh so short. You have one life to live and it is your own. This perspective - one rooted in stoic philosophy of living each day as if though you are a dying man (because you are, slowly or quickly), is one of the most freeing experiences I've ever engaged in. Everything matters, but it also doesn't, and I am here for that paradox.

Someone may approve of you, or they may not. If they are not paying your bills, doing your food shopping, washing your ass in the shower or doing any of the things you must do to live your life, they truly do not matter, and they have zero power over you. If you feel hurt by someone, or slighted, or offended - that is YOUR choice. As a society we have too often chosen to feel hurt over the choice to move on. We have chosen to hold on to negativity when the choice to be positive and move forward is right in front of us.

I wish I could show you this path, but it's the kind of thing you have to walk on your own, and I have all the faith in you that you will if you've been struggling as I have.

Be you, my sweet, sweet INFJ friends. People will love you for it, and people will hate you for it, and that is absolutely okay. You dishonor yourselves by absorbing the negativity of people who aren't living your life and not being authentic out of fear. Time is so very precious, and every moment matters. Don't live it for someone else. Live it all for you.

I've been staking out a slice of the internet over at Locals (link in the first comment below) and I've re-done my website, and have INCREDIBLE things brewing in the author-life. I'll stick around here on the YouTube, but in a limited capacity as this platform truly sucks these days and my efforts can be better taken advantage of elsewhere.

All the love my sweet, sweet INFJ friends! Remember - you are remarkable, you are unique, and your life is YOUR life, not anyone else's.
