Hello everyone!
I'm glad so many of you are enjoying the resurrection of this channel. There's just this one issue that's been bothering me a lot which keeps coming up and I'd like to address it in this post.
Almost every single upload I see at least one, if not mutitple comments, about how boring it is that I keep reusing the 'same' artwork or how you miss the variety/uniqueness of how it was earlier.
Before I started uploading to this channel again, there was nothing that really distinguished it from the main channel (other than the 'free' aspect which isn't relevant anymore with Spotify and other streaming platforms and maybe a
slightly different music style uploaded.). Believe it or not, it takes a lot of time trying to find new artwork that is interesting and then getting permission to use it from the artists.
When I had the idea bring back this channel I thought it would be really cool to try and give it a unique vibe by commissioning an illustrator to make a series of images that I could reuse by making small changes and which embodied the vision (slightly more indie/mature) of the channel moving forward.
This would greatly cut back on the amount of time I needed to spend looking for art. Yes the images are similar but they're not the same.
Up until now I've mostly made colour changes to each image but I've recently started changing around the backgrounds and will be adding more variety as time goes on. I may even commission another artist to make a bunch of images in the future as I think this 'system' is a great way to showcase different styles of illustration.
Ultimately you guys are all here for the music so please stop complaining about the art because it really makes me question whether it was a good idea to bring back the channel.
