Hi, I'm Adriana. I make videos exploring the intersection of baking + science.
I'm probably the most unconventional baker here on YouTube. I've been a home baker for several years but I'm also a scientist (MS in Microbiology/Immunology; PhD in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology).
I've spent many years studying biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and chemistry and tend to look at recipe development through the lens of science. I love researching the functions and interplay of all the macromolecules in a recipe (proteins, starches, sugars, fats) and using that knowledge to build recipes for us.
In addition to my videos, I've also built the Cakeculator, which is a custom cake recipe app that's free for you to use on my website. It allows you as a home baker to choose the cake and frostings flavors to build a cake that you'd want to make.
