Hey guys! I feel so disappointed even writing this, but I feel like I need to address everything that’s been going on. As you might know a lot has gone down in the DTI community over the last few days.
Starting off with the Lady Gaga event: the event wasn’t promoted properly. They shouldn’t have used the phrase “meet and greet” when only the devs, content creators and 3 contest winners actually got to meet her. Yes it’s impossible for her to meet everyone, but they should have made that clearer. On top of that the event dragged on too long near the end and felt unorganized. I’ll admit the start of the event was really fun, but it ended up going downhill and I completely understand the frustration. Especially since a lot of people had to stay up late for it.
Then came all the allegations about the community manager and some discord mods. I’m extremely disappointed in BeaPlays and her actions. Lashing out at her viewers was horrible in itself, but the p*do allegations make me feel sick. I just finished reading the document explaining the other person’s side too and it’s honestly so heartbreaking. I am glad the team took action and fired her as community manager. That said, this should never be used as an excuse for people to be homophobic, transphobic or spread hateful comments. It’s beyond disappointing to see people twist this situation that’s unacceptable.
I also noticed a lot of people saying they need a break from playing Dress to Impress because of everything and I completely understand that. Personally as disappointed as I am with certain members of the team, I still don’t think I will stop playing as I love playing the game and it’s a way to creatively express myself.
That said I really hope everything settles down soon. That people in wrong step down from development and management, and that no one ever has to go through something like this again. And I’ll keep supporting the amazing creators and players who make this community actually feel fun and positive💗
