Paper Episode Two is 10 years old! (I was positive that it would be in July, but alas, missed again) Probably my best? Definitely the longest one, I’ll have to make another unnecessarily long paper vid at some point…

10 years ago today! It was quite a departure from the usual style, but I think it was worth it

Completely missed this video’s 10 years anniversary. Still pretty good if you ask me… My first digitally animated paper cartoon https://youtu.be/JES0-sd0vgQ watch video on watch page

Hope you enjoyed the surprise release of Paper Alyx! I sure did, since I believe it had the most views and comments in first 24 hours out of all my other videos. So for that, I'm really thankful to you all!
Meanwhile, over on Twitter, I just shared everything I've done for Paper Episode 3 before abandoning it. Which is not much, but could be interesting! Check it out: x.com/styurov/status/1782800553971515668
As for what's next, I've been digging into my older projects, making fixes and upscaling them to bring you the full Paper Half-Life experience, just something to watch as a whole instead of clicking through a playlist. (I saw David Firth doing that, so I thought it would be neat) So you can expect that in the coming weeks as well.

Hey! I've edited this trailer for my good pal and collaborator Ryan Storm's new movie - a feature-length romantic drama which was "shot guerrilla style on a budget of transit fare & pizza coupons", which is still a bigger budget (and quality!) than that of Quark Soup. Ryan has also been giving me a hand with another project, and I'm really excited to show you the fruits of our collab very soon... watch video on watch page

Hey folks, hope you're having great holidays!
As another Paper-less year ends (cartoon coming 2024 pinky promise) It's time to optimize things here a little. 3 plus years is an awful lot of time to produce a few minutes of animation. So to speed things up, I'm thinking about relaunching a Patreon.
Some of you may remember when I made one back in 2014, but it turned out to be a failure and I demolished it. However, now with a bigger audience, I'm considering giving it a second shot.
When it comes to cartoons, my biggest obstacle has always been drawing backgrounds, so I'd like to spend potential Patreon money to pay artists (and at some point additional animators), as that would increase production speed 10x for me. And ideally, I would like to make videos for this channel full-time, and not to rely on day jobs.
Patreon rewards would include secret behind-the-scenes, early access, names in credits and probably something else. Anything to be able to create great stuff for this channel more frequently. So would you be willing to support this little venture?

I hope you enjoyed our little series! It's short and strange, but I like how it worked out in the end. Pavel has posted a feature about filming a series on a low budget, describing some cool production moments: journal.tinkoff.ru/tv-series-for-18000/ (in Russian, but translatable using your website of choice) I'd like to outline some facts as well.
- First scenes were filmed in fall of 2020, and the last pickup shots being done in March of 2023. The final edit was complete this August. While I was miles away, Pavel filmed almost everything, with me doing all the post-production, but I also guest starred as younger Turkanu while I was in town.
- The series was filmed in and around Moscow, Pushkinskiye Gory and Rio de Janeiro.
- 95% was filmed on an iPhone 11 Pro.
If there's demand, in the future I could also describe in detail how, for example, we've made the trial sequence, the intro or the clones. There's some fun technical stuff I'd be eager to discuss.
