Taking a slight break, somewhat.
I still have a long list of things I want to make, but it's been tough finding the encouragement and will to continue - a combination of the recent NewJeans news and likely other factors well before this.
I realize I got a chunk of new subs from Olympics, some from NewJeans fandom, and a bunch from ancient 2012 days making product reviews (whom likely forgot about me lol). Right now, cutting NewJeans content makes me happy, but I am not sure it's what this community or others want.
I might just start a separate channel for unfiltered NewJeans blitz clips and keep this as a pop/sports channel. Or I won't.
Losing a bit of steam and hope to regain it soon somehow. Or it goes away and that will be fine, too.

Bunnies, how are you doing? If you're in the fandom, you most likely already saw or heard about the video of the girls voicing their concerns and taking a stand against hybe. I wished I understood Korean to really dive into the emotion, but the English subs will have to suffice. I get the general solemn tone and severity of the situation. It feels silly that I feel sad and solemn today, since this is just a music group after all.
I feel like I need somewhere to share this - grief or pain. Whatever it's called. I keep reminding myself that this is a kpop group in the end. But it's not just that. NewJeans are the anti-kpop group that has brought joy, happiness, and connection in many ways to myself and millions of others, in way less than 2 years. Yes, there's definitely a formula in the kpop machine, but maybe it's blind faith or something else - they seem different and genuine. I skipped 15 years worth of kpop since bigbang and these girls hooked me back in (and likely many others). I've stayed away from the loud trumpets and was eased back in with smooth r&b, ballads, and y2k tunes.
Being charming is good business - true. Though OT5 objectively feels kindhearted and hides nothing. There's a ton of excellent groups with catchy songs - Le Serrafim, aespa, ive, illit, xg but there's always this lingering lack of realness. Parts of the acts or members just feels fake. I don't see that with NJ at all.
Will we get a full album as rumored for this year? Probably not.
Will HYBE budge? Probably not.
Was this the best decision by the girls? I think so. They were practically sidelined as it was, especially how HYBE keeps pushing Le Serrafim to the US press, VMA performances. NewJeans is leaps beyond any girl group act HYBE has, and yet - the press and media support they've given is a joke. Could you imagine what could happen if the label behind BTS actually gave NewJeans full support for a full album, world tour, doing collabs with other hybe artists? XG and Kiss of life already have announced world tours, and they debuted around the same time.
Will I look back 5 years from now and remember? Maybe not. But it doesn't mean you can't feel something, whatever that may be.
P.S. I feel like I should be covering this bs, but I am too angry/sad right now. What I did do is read up on some similar instances via Meta AI. The main success story is BTS. The information wasn't encouraging, especially since most instances groups disband or someone leaves, with a small chance that labels renegotiate. I don't think there was an instance where the CEO of a sublabel was reinstated. The good news is that Bunnies fandom is strong, and could ultimately save them. So keep consuming their content, music, engage digitally or where ever.

Is this worth my time and make shorts from Hanni's latest official vlog?
I'm asking because I'm not really sure people care or want to see this. I definitely do, but it may end up being like 5-8 shorts nobody cares for lol. What I'll definitely do is make a condense cut of what I believe to be the highlights, which I think will be about 8 minutes to the original's 20 minutes. Then cut those up for easy looping.
I've no idea. I'll just do it.

I was not expecting a simple meep meep dub over Sha'carri's run to get this much interest and subs! I hope to make more interesting content in the near future.
I mostly do kpop - NewJeans in particular and random things I'm following and watching - cool music videos, olympics, hot ones, sports. I suppose you could say pop culture in general. I used to do product reviews, but not so much anymore. I still could if I wanted to. Thanks for tuning in.

This is a long post. The Coupang play broadcast missed a lot of key moments.
The broadcast wasn't great at capturing key dance moments. They zoomed out to do wide shots when it wasn't necessary. It should've been done at the beginning and end, not during the song.
Attention: They completely changed to wide shot instead of zoomed in on Hyein, when she does her iconic hair flip during the bridge.
Hype Boy: Broadcast was a complete mess. Random wide shots during the pre-chorus. Haerin, Minji, and Hyein all had parts were they weren't focused on.
Super Shy: Panning away when Hanni's doing her bridge. LOL I get they were trying show off the pyro, but they need to do a better job merging the shots. Instead, It felt more disruptive.
Also, the players are disrespectful for still warming up during ETA. Horrible production controls. Shame on the players.
I did the best I could, keeping the performance and filling in with other MV footage were there were awkward shots. Initially, I wanted to do this to highlight how Attention is basically the MV come true! Then, I started to see a lot of areas of poor shot selection from the broadcast.

Hurt, 250 remix is always in my rotation. It is arguably their best remix and Hurt is objectively their best song. Severely underrated.
The girls also looks fantastic in this remix MV. The lighting, color grading, editing are just perfection.
