WHETHER TO PREPARE FOR NEETPG OR PLAB?

This post gives you an insight into some of the important domains of your life such as Social, Professional and Economic domains, comparing both the countries. Your decision ought to be based on what you consider is more important to you than the other.

I would love to know why you chose India or the UK?
Do mention in the comments section below.

With Love,

I have given up my license to practice in the UK with effect from- 03/12/2023- It was a painful decision with all the hard work and money I have put into and I do question myself for my decisions but I know that everything that happens- there is a reason behind it.

I have chosen the option that I might be reapplying for license to practice in 3 or more years in order to return to the UK practice.

Made a small reel/video on how to relinquish your license- will post soon!

Looking forward to take something from home to the UK after 3 + 1 years of my residency programme!

With love,
Dr Spinach

Psychiatry is one of the most important PLAB 2 subjects to be prepared for the OSCE exam. I would recommend to take this one-time class in order to get yourself completely aligned on how you can approach the psychiatry scenarios in PLAB 2 and therefore secure at least 1 station out of 16.

This is a one-time class only. Please hurry-up before the seats are full. The details are in the poster.

Hello My Youtube Family! If I were to conduct a session, how many of you would be interested in a PLAB 2 paid psychiatry session on Wednesday, 11th October 2023?

It’s been predicted that UK is going to be hit by major recession in 2023. According to a report by Bloomberg, UK will have a recession probability of 75 per cent; India is the only country at 0 per cent, followed by Indonesia at 2 per cent. Cost of living and daily commodity prices in the UK are at all time high. The stats here should be taken with a grain of salt. Things can change as the UK economy settles but as of now this is the prediction. There might be some shift in my goals too due to various reasons. Let's see what happens next.

How to go about revealing MEDICAL ERRORS in PLAB 2?📢
LOOK AT THE INCREDIBLE VOCABULARY THEY HAVE USED IN THIS EMAIL! Please read the complete post to understand the context.

I am someone who enjoys learning about pieces of information here n there on some matters of life through daily life examples. When we are invested in something we even tend to learn things about it from the stuff that might not have the slightest co-relation to what our minds our invested in.

But somehow our minds our capable of connecting things to each other. One such example is this email I received today from a renting company. A while ago I rented a piece of furniture in Delhi at my place, today they emailed me someone broke into their system. While we all have our credits and debits information with them, it does scare the customer.

Very similar to a medical error caused by a doctor that may scare their patients.

Lets examine the strategic approach they had used in this email, which we as doctors also learn in our training for PLAB 2 to break a medical error.

What can I say 'Life's a circle!' 😉

Great news! I recieved my General Medical Council (Britain) registration after nearly 4 months.

I kinda gave up in the middle but I am so happy I got it. I went through a lot of hurdles to get it. Everytime I received an email, my heart started to race is it a go-go or another document they require.

GMC is very strict with the documentation work. You need to provide them with all the documents they are asking for. My application was closed when they didn’t receive all the documents on time. I had to gather all the documents and reapply to get myself registered.

I honestly do not know when will I start working in the UK or whether or not I’ll be working in the UK any soon. However, I am very happy today that I am a registered medical practitioner in the United Kingdom, I believe this opens opportunities for me to work in any part of the UK- if I had a choice, I’d go with Scotland- it took a part of my heart in the UK ;). Well, getting a GMC registration also really stands out in my resume, whether or not I choose to work in the UK.

Now, I have been asked a lot of questions regarding GMC registration, and any of their circumstances will affect their GMC registration.

I really need to clear this up.
After passing your PLAB/UKMLA exams, and applying for registration to practice in the UK, you are allotted an application advisor. Every single application is dealt with individually. Therefore, it’s important for you to understand that no one can answer the questions you ask me, only GMC can tell you your next course action if you want to get registered with them. I'd like to reiterate again- "Every application in GMC is treated on individual basis and it varies from applicant to applicant". The only thing to keep in mind is to stay honest and true to GMC.

If you need answers please email GMC directly. However, I have heard that GMC does not entertain you if you have not passed your PLAB exams. Please do not message me regarding these questions, I cannot answer them.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with my journey so far. I am truly indebted to them. And I’d like to help a lot more who are or might be taking this journey in their future.

Best wishes,
Dr Spinach
