Set the amp up today and it was pegged to the rail, spent 2 hrs desoldering and testing transistors to find after swearing and leaving that one power lead was going into the ground not negative on one of the supplys, corrected that turned it back on and it was alive with no offset...yay....go to check bias, the bias that was there two days ago... it's gone...another 3 hours later I have no reason as to why it's happening, it looks like the bias/vas current source had maybe been damaged from the earlier muck up. It's 2:53am now so il get back at it tomorrow. I have recorded all over it so il edit it into 3 or 4 videos and you guys can have a good laugh at me, hopefully tomorrow I find it's just the Cs and get it going, right now I have bias some times then all of a sudden it's gone, it gets even weirder when the offset is still zero I open the bias spreader up completely and there's still only 3v of bias voltage when there should be full rail voltage and both sides should be turned hard on, sometimes I can get this to happen and There's bias then all of a sudden it's gone again, and no not a sign of oscilation anywhere! I hate life sometimes lol

Let the planning begin! I'm going to need to make risers for the ops's and for the boards a plate will go across the top of the xformers for the boards to sit on and be shielded from the xformers!

I added 8 more 100nf caps to the rails as I had put 1 next to each ip Cs and cm but not for the vas Cs and bottom vas tr so I have now added them, I have a laptop to fix today, video coming soon, then tonight first tests on the amp start ( bias set, enoughf gain?, crossover distortion, thd and loading, all that good stuff!

The amp is completely and thoroughly ready for testing and loading. Also, it's upgraded as much as possible apart from the external referenced current sources and capacitive multipliers for the vas and input stage rail's, it's even got output inclusive two pole compensation!!!

I had some house chores to do today, so the input circuitry is going to have to wait half breadboarded as in picture till tomorrow! Cya all soon!

For those wondering about the massive collection of transistors I am making, I intend on making test boards of different amplifier topology and putting test sockets for every transistor so I can experiment with different transistors, the old school type commonly used in crt deflection circuits (really low cob high gain and high vceo) as these devices are some of the best transistors ever made and are all obsolete now so od like to make some things and really good things at that for myself to keep and enjoy using these origional kec, Toshiba, sanken and Hitachi parts and then I will find modern day replacements in tht and smd and start making amps and try to launch a bossiness, of course by then il have my quant asylum and much other stuff sorted by then,
