Sunneva Ása Weisshappel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in spring 2013. In the same year she founded and managed Algera Studio, a workshop, art gallery and residency in Reykjavík. In the year 2013 Sunneva received the Icelandic Music Award for album cover of the year. Sunneva has directed and worked on several music videos, her work in that field has been nominated for awards both in Iceland and other places in Europe.In 2016 Sunneva designed costumes and prosthetic makeup for the theatre piece Njála, which was staged in the Reykjavik city Theatre. For the design she got the Icelandic Performing Arts Awards, Gríman for the best costume design of the year 2015. She mainly works with director Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson in German theatres, but also Norway and Iceland. In-between theatre projects Sunneva focuses on Fine Art and film, taking part in art exhibitions, working in art residences and performing herself.
