Today marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Band Aid's "Do They Know it's Christmas?", one of the most recognisable Christmas songs recorded to date. Last year, we found the original rushes of the Band Aid recording sessions hidden away in our tape storage (in a cassette box blandly named "Charity Christmas single"!). Needless to say, we digitised them with utmost urgency to be shared with you on here. Watch the footage below, and see how many famous faces you can spot!

On this day, 50 years ago, Lord Lucan vanished. Police began to search for the 39-year-old Lucan after the body of the family nanny, Sandra Rivett, was discovered in their Belgravia house. Despite various claimed sightings over the years, Lucan's disappearance remains a mystery and he was declared dead in absentia in 1999.
We recently discovered more footage from the invesitagations around his disappearance at our film store in Slough.

October is Black History Month and we're celebrating Ernest Eytle.
Eytle was a British-Guyanese former cricketer and commentator. He later worked as a sports reporter for ITN but covered other stories including the Notting Hill Riots. Barbara Blake-Hannah is credited as being the first black person to appear in a regular spot on UK televison (1968) but Eytle also reported in the later 1950s and into the 1960s.
