*Did you know the pH of your skin and subsequently your skincare products is important?!* Especially for individuals with a decreased skin barrier function such as in eczema, acne, rosacea and psoriasis. One product that I have been loving to balance my skin pH and reduce symptoms of eczema is the Soteri Skin No More Rough Patches Cream. This moisturizer is great for face and body and leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. If you're looking for a new moisturizer this one is worth giving a try!

Click on the link and enter code DRSARAHWRIGHT at checkout for 20% off your order: soteriskin.com/drsarahwright

New video posted on how to make homemade body butter for beginners!

I first learned how to make my own body butters and lotions in naturopathic medical school in my Botanical Medicine Lab course. I immediately fell in love with it and have been making them ever since for my dry and eczema prone skin.

Here is my easy recipe for beginners if you've ever thought about making your own body butter. It's easier than you think, so give it a try and let me know how it goes!

Dr. Sarah's Body Butter Recipe:
1/2 cup sunflower seed oil*
1/2 cup shea butter
1/4 cup beeswax pellets
1 tsp vitamin E oil
1/2 tsp (~50 drops) favorite essential oil

Using a double boiler, melt shea butter and beeswax in the sunflower seed oil.
*if you don't have sunflower seed oil, can alternatively use almond oil or coconut oil. I don't recommend olive oil.

Remove from heat and let cool in freezer for 10-15 minutes. Add in vitamin E oil and essential oils. Mix these in, scraping the sides of the bowl well. Blend with an immersion blender or kitchen hand held mixer for 1-2 minutes until smooth.

Place in freezer for an additional 5 minutes. Blend again for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Store in airtight containers. I used two 4oz size mason jars and had a little bit left over.

Massage into clean skin for luxuriously soft feeling skin!
