Hello fellow photographers, I’ve missed you!

I’m slowly working my way back on track and plan to start producing videos again in the second half of this year. In the meantime, feel free to visit the blog and check out some of the interviews I’ve done—like this one with ‪@AlecSothYouTube‬

Hello fellow photographers!
It's been a while since we done the last photo-critique and I miss your photos. I decided to open submissions again but it's different this time.
In an era where the rapid consumption of single, fleeting images on social media platforms has become the norm, we yearn for a return to storytelling that is deliberate, deep, and deliberate. It's got me pondering the value of taking a step back to appreciate photography with a bit more depth, like in the old days with photo essays in magazines. So, I'm rolling out a new monthly feature on our blog aimed at doing just that.

Check out all the details - aboutphotography.blog/blog/share-your-picture-stor…

The project is in the early stages, so everything is subject to change, but I would be happy to hear what you think.

"The greatest pleasure in being an artist is that every now and then you do something that you feel is good. You can actually look at it and think, 'I like that,' 'It is good,' or 'I am not ashamed of that.' I think if you know enough about photography, you realize that nothing is really that new in photography. I don't usually go out looking for things. I don't go out when I take a walk looking for something. Everything is suitable to be photographed; everything is a photograph. We live in a world today where almost everything is a photograph. The one nice thing about photography is that it teaches you to look; it teaches you to appreciate all kinds of things." - https://youtu.be/B-KPSwquTDk

Hello fellow photographers! Long time no see! It has indeed been quite a while since I last posted, but as you know, sometimes life happens, and the last thing you have time for is making and posting videos. Also, *insert random excuses here* 😀🥲. However, I haven't been completely inactive 😃. I took some time to finally finish Photopedia, filling everyone's profiles and adding your photos (which you can check on the website). Doing this brought back many memories, and I must say I actually miss you guys 😊. After all, we've had 40 live streams, interviews, Reddit rounds, etc. I'm sorry I couldn't keep up with everyone. It's not that I don't care; it was just a bit too much to juggle alongside my family and other responsibilities. I would love to reconnect with you all in the comments.
The break I took made me rethink many things, especially the direction I want to take with this channel. I found it a bit scattered, as I realized I was posting videos in more than 10 different directions. So, I reviewed every video and unlisted over 50 of them, which I felt were somewhat disconnected from what I initially wanted to do here. But don't worry! Photography has always been the main focus of this channel, and that's what I intend to continue posting. In the next few videos, I want to focus on the stories I've wanted to tell from the beginning, and I hope my production quality has improved as well. I think you'll like it! It's great to be active again, and for now, you can expect one longer video every two weeks and a shorter one in between. I hope I can maintain this pace for a while. Anyway, it's fantastic to be back and creating again! Thank you all for your support.

Hello, fellow photographers.

First of all, thank you to all of you who have participated in the About Photography challenge so far. We've done almost 40 rounds and many guest critiques on the channel.

Today, I would like to tell you that round 40 will be the last round (at least for a while). There are several reasons for that and I will go through them. First is my inability to manage everything on time and keep all promises. I just realized that when getting ready for the stream, I keep saying things are getting delayed over and over. It might be for family reasons with my kids getting sick repeatedly, or my work when I just have little-to-no time to dedicate to the challenge. I am really frustrated because of that and I think it is unfair to you all when things like interviews or photopedia profiles are delayed again and again.

I really like the project but I am just unable to keep up with it as it is for now. I would really like to get back to it not only because I have learned so much from you and our guests, but I have also met some wonderful people in this community. I am really grateful many of you joined and liked it. That is why I'll leave the door open to round 41 being available for submission.

I can’t really tell when/if I will be back but I will use this break to finish all the things that have been delayed. I will definitely not quit photography. It is actually one of the reasons to pause this project as I really had no time to produce stuff for my main channel, and there is so much I want to do there, like essays and podcasts. I also want to take photos more often. All of those things are simply not possible for me with my current situation/schedule but I hope it all gets sorted as time goes on. In the meantime, I will be happy to see you around either on the blog or the About Photography YouTube channel.

Thank you once again!

Martin
