Hope you are all having a great Friday. I uploaded a new video today, but turns out there were some flickering issues in the video related to the frame rates. I am working to resolve the issues and will re-upload tomorrow at 10 AM.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I dropped a short instead. It's not much but it's something for the viewers who watched today's video and liked and commented despite the issues with the video.
Also, if you guys have any suggestions on future video ideas, please let me know in the comments!

So the channel recently crossed an important landmark. On January 1st 2025, the channel officially crossed 10,000 subscribers!
This is huge! When I first started this channel about 5 months ago, I would have never thought that I would ever get to 1,000 let alone 10,000.
So from the bottom of my heart, Thank you to everyone that chose to subscribe to my channel and to anyone that watched any of my videos. To be blunt, it has been life-changing. It is given my life more purpose, its an outlet where I can explore my passion of geography, geology, biogeography and urban planning with a like-minded community. I am slowly trying to improve my voiceovers and video editing skills. I am not where I would like to be yet, but I think I am slowly getting there.
So this year I am going to continue making content, I know I will enjoy it and I hope you will too! My goal is to one day hit 100,000 subscribers so that I can start doing this full time and hit the road and bring you guys stories and content from different parts of Canada and maybe even beyond!

Here we are, as the channel approaches 3500 subs, I wanted to let you all know a bit more about me. But before that, I just want to thank everyone of you for hitting that subscribe button.
My name is Ali, I live in Hamilton, ON. Been in southern Ontario my whole life, grew up in North York, Toronto. However, I don’t want to stay in Ontario for much longer, my goal is to eventually move to Alberta (preferably Calgary). As you can tell my heart lies in the mountains and I want to be as close as I can, while still enjoying the amenities of a big city.
Additionally, in terms of my education and experience, I have a BSc in Env. Science and an MES in Urban Planning with a specialization in Transportation Planning, both from Toronto area universities. I also have a diploma is GIS. My love for geography started when I was a kid, I was always fascinated by different landforms and processes behind how they were formed. I have worked for consulting firms, non for profit organizations, provincial and municipal government and school boards.
I have been blessed with the opportunities to travel across Canada and the US and even Europe and Asia. I enjoy seeing different geographies and trying out new foods.
In terms of favourites, my favourite movies are the LOTR Trilogy, Blade Runner 2049, Prisoners and Donnie Darko in no particular order. Favourite band is Our Lady Peace. If you are still reading, thank you.
I started this page as a place where I can share my passion for geography, in all its forms. I don’t have an end goal for the channel. I just want to keep posting content that I find interesting and that I hope you will too. Maybe if it gets big enough, I can use the earnings from the channel to travel to some of the epic locations I mention in my videos. That would be a dream come true for me, an opportunity to see the most glorious locations this amazing country of ours has to offer.

So, once upon a time I used to make cartographic products and sell them. I have included a picture of one of my maps. For many years I worked exclusively with GIS packages ( ESRI’s ArcMap). I used to make customs maps for neighbourhoods, cities, wards etc. just curious as to see how many people would be interesting in purchasing maps like these. I am debating whether or not I should go back to making these once more. I live a busy life with 2 kids so it’s really hard to give time to a project like this. But I would do it if it’s feasible (financially). I know I have a small platform here so I’m not expecting much, just curious as to what you all think. Thanks in advance 🙏.
