Chris Nelson was born & raised in Clinton, NC and now resides in the Loris, SC. His southern upbringing & deep roots in classic country music, combined with his ambitions to learn instrumental classical & jazz music, collided in 2018 when he performed as a vocalist for the first time. He began mixing his love for traditional country music with his ability to play the saxophone & guitar. The result was the creation of original songs with a unique traditional country-soul mixture.
In 2022, at The Carolina Country Music Awards, Chris was nominated for Emerging New Artist & won Music Video of The Year for his debut single, âWorking Class Heroesâ. This song was a tribute to his father, who also starred in the music video. In 2023, Chris was nominated for Male Artist of The Year & Country Single of The Year for his second single release, âBroken Cowboysâ at The CCMAs. In 2024, Chris is in the April Entertainer of The Year competition for his third single release, âIf These Walls Could Talkâ.
