As of now, the "Midland London" brand is no more... introducing my new handle: "OM the Rails"!

As I mentioned in my last post, I wanted to make a more unique brand for the channel which reflects its increasingly global nature, and the work I have done over the last few weeks to bring the brand into reality has now finally been completed; the name being a pun on my initials and "on the rails", meaning it was therefore a natural fit.

So what does this mean for the channel?

Whilst there will be no change to the quality of my videos (minus incremental improvements overtime), all my videos and social media profiles are now being rebranded under the @OMtheRails handle going forward - as mentioned above this will replace the previous Midland London brand, though my contact email for sponsorships and business enquiries will remain the same for now whilst I sort out a new one, however this is less of a priority at the moment and won't significantly impact the operations of the channel.

I made an official launch video for the brand, which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSE5F... (this will also be pinned to my profile shortly).

The first video under the new brand should be out tomorrow, and fittingly it's on a brand new train! Thanks for your ongoing support all, and I'll be looking forward to you joining me as the journey continues!

Hi all, just wanted to come on here to share a few things regarding the channel.

First of all at the time of writing, the channel has just passed 20,000 subscribers! I'm honestly astounded by this and none of this would be possible without your help and support - it really does mean the world to me and I'm grateful that so many of you enjoy my content enough to engage with the channel and enable me to keep bringing bigger and better videos to it.

In relation to this, I am announcing that the "Midland London" brand will be retired from the channel going into June 2024. It's a name that has got me this far and one I have been using since 2020, however I feel that with the increased variety of trains, countries and (very soon) continents I'm now covering on YouTube, it's a name that's no longer fit for purpose. Consequently, I have been reflecting the past couple of months as to how to make the new brand/name of the channel not only more unique, but also reflective of the changes the channel is going through in terms of content being covered and where I want the channel to be as it continues to grow overtime.

I am currently sorting out the admin regarding the name change, including the similar, yet slightly different new logo; both of these will be rolled out in early June once they are ready. The final video under the Midland London name should hopefully be out this week, after which all new videos going forward will be under the new channel name and identity, which I will share with you ahead of the first video going live.

Once again a massive thanks to you all for the ongoing support! The journey continues...

For this week's video, I'll be taking you on a must-do high speed journey in Europe - the ICE/DB joint service between Germany and France. Starting in Frankfurt, we'll eventually reach speeds of 320km/h on one of the world's fastest railway lines, the LGV Est, as we travel to Paris in the great speed and comfort which DB's ICE 3 Velaro D trains offer. Not to mention the bargain price I paid for my first class ticket...

Out tonight at 5pm UK time, see you then!

Coming up this week is something I've been wanting to bring you for ages... the Transport for Wales Premier Sets, which entered service on the Manchester to Cardiff route less than 2 years ago now. Finally you can experience a first class offering on this key intercity route, and even one of Britain's best rail dining experiences!

See you later at 5pm BST!

Up this week on the channel, I'll be taking a look at the "new" Eurostar Red - the result of the merger of Thalys and incorporation under the legacy Eurostar brand. I'll be taking you on a ride between Amsterdam and Paris and showing you that the changes are not quite as big as you'd be expecting...

Look forward to you joining me at 5pm UK time!

Hi all, no video this week as I need a well-deserved break this Easter weekend. I'm currently doing so in Morocco whilst checking out the rail network here for the next few days and I'm absolutely loving my time here - normal service will resume next week, but for now here are some photos from my travels today. To those celebrating, happy Easter!

Out at 6:30pm UK time...

As I mentioned towards the end of last year, I'm really aiming to diversify the content on the channel a bit more this year, so following on from my Dutchflyer odyssey last Summer, I'll be taking you on a near 15 hour journey (condensed into 25 minutes πŸ˜†) from London to Berlin, using both the Eurostar and Europe's newest sleeper train, the European Sleeper.

See you all later!

Evening all, this week's video will be out Saturday/Sunday as the edit's taking longer than desired - but I promise it's a good one... πŸ‘€

Coming up this week, a ride on the Frecciarossa 1000 on its home turf in Italy... hard to believe it's been almost a year since I uploaded any videos from the country, and since I last made the trip! The journey will be done in Business Class as we experience the comfort of these 400km/h-capable high speed trains from Venice to Rome.

See you tomorrow at 5pm UK time!
