Aboutβγγγγ»γγγ kurai / gurai
About how much? About how many?
Both γγγ kurai and γγγ gurai mean the same thing. In some cases, saying βguraiβ may flow easier, but there otherwise doesnβt seem to be a hard and fast rule for which to choose.

Weβre back from our seven-week trip to Japan. The primary purpose of the journey was to assist Yumi's mother and tidy up her house, but we did find time for a few exciting excursions.
One such adventure was my first taste of Pocari Sweat - despite having lived in Japan and visited almost a dozen times over the years, it was the first time ever. The name has never exactly inspired thirst, but at that moment, I needed a sports drink. To my surprise, it tasted and smelled better than my own sweat.

Those are all excellent strategies. However, today, let's take a close look at what I believe is THE most important way to enhance your pronunciation. "ι·ι³ Long Vowels"
What?! That's more important than pitch accents?
Well, I'm not implying that other aspects aren't significantβwhile improving your Japanese, you should certainly polish each area in turn. However, seldom does a poor accent, intonation, or vowel sound lead to total misunderstandings.
