I'm so happy to share this new set with my good friend ‪@mosemusica‬ at ‪@SonidosdelLago‬ in Mexico!

It was such a magical experience to share music in such a powerful location. May our songs and prayers ripple out across the Earth to bring more togetherness, healing and peace.

Enjoy family 🌈

Greetings family, I am so happy to announce I will be playing a one off show in Berlin on the 7th March for the release of my new single and to celebrate international women’s day ✨

(More details via my website) samgarrettmusic.com

Secondly, I wanted to share the story behind my next single release. This is a powerful song for me and one that I feel is relevant to share at this time.
When Covid hit I came across a video of how chocolate is production and the people involved in that process. I was struck by the massive inequality and the amount of money the growers and harvesters of the cacao were paid compared to the business owners at the top of the chain. The price that the growers get paid is set by the government who have ties with the business owners at the top, and they set the price very low so that they can reap as much of the rewards as possible leaving little to nothing for the very foundation, the farmers.

After watching I was left feeling heavy in my heart and in isolation from the world, at a time when it all seemed very confusing. The song started to come through that day as a result of what I was feeling inside combined with what I had been learning at that time from the teachings of His Majesty Haile Selassie.

This song is not an easy song to sing, but I feel it is my responsibility to my listeners to sing from an authentic and true place. Fast forward to today I was struck again by what is happening to Women in Iran and by what I saw of the revolution happening there. It moved me to tears and a voice inside said that this song wants to be in the world to assist us in this movement towards freedom and liberation in these times.

This song is not about the production of chocolate or the women in Iran this is a call to all of us throughout the world to awaken to the deeper love and care that is within us, do not be disheartened by the challenges we face but rise in love, as His Majesty said “We must become members of a new race, overcoming petty prejudice, and owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations, but to our fellow men and women within the human community”.

Much love and blessings to you all x
