It is not always easy for us to see beyond the webs of illusions, which are intricately woven by the spider-like venomous architects of modernity. Some falsehoods are so deeply rooted in people’s minds that they are unlikely to be completely removed after decades or hundreds of years of negative programming and brainwashing.
How do we see through these deceptive veils?
In "Lord of the Rings", the Phial of Galadriel was a gift that Galadriel gave to Frodo Baggins upon the Fellowship’s departure from Lothlórien. The Phial contained the trapped light of the Star of Eärendil, a celestial object that shone in the horizon both in the morning and the evening. THE AGE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL DRAGON-SLAYING
We live in the age of psychological warfare. The battles of this digital age are not the ones fought with the sword or the rifle. From every possible direction we are assailed by malevolent voices that aim to reduce us to mere numbers, machines, or slaves to lower desires. These forces are both outer and inner.
The knights of the digital century are those who got used to saying "no" to these snake-like voices. While they reject the poisonous venom, they also embrace what is healthy and nurturing.
What are the dragons of this modern age? Some examples:
— media in general (both mainstream and alternative media can be equally toxic and damaging to one's well-being),
— "celebrities" and influencers,
— beauty and fashion industries that want to profit on women's insecurities,
— pornography and those who control this huge business,
— "scientific experts", including many modern psychologists,
— New Age cult leaders.
But probably the most dangerous dragons are those who dwell inside us. These are treacherous snakes of selfishness, laziness, indifference, anger, jealousy, and arrogance. It is essential to remember that we should prioritise vanquishing these beasts before we even begin to fight the external demons.
