Move update: my garage is a labyrinth of boxes and packaging material. The sheer amount of small fixes required in the first two weeks of being in a new place is staggering. The backyard has been squatted by an oversized chicken on a power trip, which is unfortunately both protected and preventing the landscapers from starting. The old place is still not fully cleared out. All in all, it's a 120% busy week.
I was planning to restart video production, but I don't even have internet yet, so I'll have to push that plan to next week.

Got the keys for our new place yesterday, official move date is August 9. It'll be full on prep until then, so expect a pause in video releases.
The room below is going to eventually contain the new gaming setup, don't worry, as soon as there's something in it, I'll show you 😁
After things have settled, I'm looking to get back to regular release schedule.

It's getting real, we'll slowly start moving into our new place in August. As I've mentioned before, that means time to produce videos is going to be increasingly scarce, and the release schedule will be on a best-effort basis, as I've got a very long checklist of things that need to be done, everything from getting the necessary paperwork, certifiers visiting, getting the house network up and running, light fixtures & a whole new set of furniture. And minor stuff like having a fence around the place.
I'll be making some vlog-style videos on the new gaming setup when the time comes, and once everything is working, we'll start a new CK3 series, and get back to a more regular release schedule. I'll keep you all posted ♥️

Huge thanks to @bale5931 for pointing out that Kaiserreich 1.1.4 will break saves. This sort of thing is a constant bane for content creation (UAD used to be notorious for this as well), especially if it's destructive mutation without backups.
Looking into the outdated mod documentation on the PDX wiki didn't help, so after some poking at files, it seems that the way it works is for HOI4 to drop a mod descriptor file into the local mod directory, which then points to Steam's downloaded location.
I've made a copy of the mod files outside Steam's grasp, and I'll be pointing the mod descriptor there, which, if all things work, should create a local copy of the mod, and I'll just have to clean that up after I'm done recording.
Some days I miss the good old times when games came on CDs or floppies in cardboard boxes :)
Edit:
after some more digging, I found the mod archive on their github: github.com/Kaiserreich/Kaiserreich-4-Archive/tags
which means when Steam inevitably breaks things, I'm expecting to be able to get an older version for manual install there.

I've reverse-engineered a 4-page script to try and replay the Kaiserreich scenario as closely as possible. Of course, RNG is a major factor, and some things have changed, but I'm back at the point we left off after several attempts, and it's not too bad.
I'll start editing the footage tomorrow to give you an overview of the retconned timeline, and I'll try to get episode 20 on track later this week.
