My SSD just wiped from failing and I lost all the videos I've been working on.
Don't really expect any recent highlights, just some maybe older clips. RIP ASL ones

I don't want to make the videos too public so I put it behind patreon free tier and in Discord.

Check them out if you are interested and give me feedback below in comments.

I'm planning to release pretty intermittently and not really on schedule. Should get JaeDong episodes on timely manner tho.

Pretty bad news in Korea, potentially hugely impactful
Nansu accidentally streamed himself going into illegal betting site and logging in. The betting site had SC uni matches on it

Nanu is an amateur that is 2nd in command coach in one of SC uni teams

As you know, SC uni scene is huge in Korea, so it has subcategories on illegal betting sites with odds on it you can bet on.
And a head coach going into the site itself and logging in directing it to SC uni match odds is just very very shady and has many implications like setting up matchfixing.

People in forums have been speculating about these for years whenever there has been odd strategies or games but have been waved off due to sheer low level of players in SC uni but now there's pretty much as solid proof as you can get that at least one person has been active on betting sites involving SC uni itself.

Soma's back from military and will stream tomorrow!

"As of June 25, 2025, I have been officially discharged from active reserve duty^^

Over the past year and six months, I experienced so much — from going to Nonsan Training Center, serving in the artillery unit in Cheorwon, becoming a parent, switching to active reserve duty — it’s been a whirlwind. Back when I was serving, I kept thinking, “Why is time going so slowly?” But now that the day I was waiting for is finally here, it feels like I just had my last stream right before enlisting — like I time-jumped or something. Haha.

I sincerely thank everyone who supported me during my military service.

I’ll do my best to repay that support by coming back and streaming diligently.

I’ll share the rest of the story on stream tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who waited for me!!"

After DLing vods and watching both RO4 (Snow vs SoulKey) and Finals, I decided to not do Pros react for finals/semis.
Both series were one of the best ASL series the tourney had to offer, but on individual game levels, I don't think it warrants special game/event requirement that I placed on me making pro react video.

Semis-Finals & Finals was incredible but its the series that made it incredible, not the individual games itself I feel

---
As for people asking if either Best or SoulKey will be bonjwa after winning ASL
(hypothetical Best for breaking ZvP curse or SoulKey for 4peat):
- no, Bonjwa is no longer used for achievements after Kespa/ProLeague era due to limited competitiveness/progamer pool.

I know term Bonwja gets thrown around a lot in foreign side for both SC1 and SC2, but matter of fact is, on korean community, Bonjwa isn't really applicable nowadays due to limited pro-pool.

Korean communities tend to place a lot of importance in competitiveness of scene and dominance during it, and matter of fact is, even though BW has progressed far in meta and knowledge compared to ProLeague era, it's still competing within closed player-pool with no real new talents.

It's arguably much harder to dominate in era with constant new generations and talents coming out, and BW doesn't have that ecosystem right now even with advanced meta/knowledge and faster meta cycles than before, in end of day it's still limited to existing pro-pool.

Pretty amazing posts like this is Top post on /r/starcraft, the most popular foreign starcraft related forum lol

1.Player pool
I believe player pool sizes are roughly even since Korea server often has 20k+ players online daily. I know from Nephest SC2 figures there's around 6k players on ladder globally for SC2.

2. Tournament prize pools
Not if you include daily ProLeague figures, but fair, Korean BW only really hosts 1 huge tournament in ASL, rest are smaller ones
A single daily ProLeague match on May 6th, 2025 was over 301,500 balloons, which is around around 22k USD alone. That picture is top Major ProLeague rankings and that one on May 2025 was #6.

3. YouTube viewership
Theres tons of SC1 youtubers in Korea. I just highlighted few of bigger channels that primarily focuses on SC1 on that list, and not guys like Terror or Britney who only drop by SC1 on and off. You can see Last's channel has 800k+ subs with tons of views and long VOD times. Nothing more needed to say than that.

4. Stream viewership
ASL semis this season got 140k for SoulKey vs Snow and 120k for Light vs Best. SC uni tourneys got $60m+ USD alone in 2024 and has huge viewership. That last 7 days chart shows viewership numbers in Korea
