To anyone who has ever said Cricket would be happier "flying free outside", this is what he looked like when picked up by Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue vs a few weeks after I adopted him. He was very sick and it took him over 2 months to be well enough to come home to me.
Pigeons are domestic animals and need the care of humans to thrive. Feral pigeons living outside have a much shorter life span than the true life span of pigeons.
