I retired in 2019 as the most prolific bugler in horse racing history, and this channel is a record of my work.
I began my career at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York on September 2, 1987. I also free lanced as a trumpeter, mostly at weddings and church services and with the occasional bar band. I made 2 studio recordings with Grammy Award winning producer Paul Fakhourie. I retired from trumpet playing in September of 2019.
During those 32 years as a horse racing bugler, I performed "First Call" over 60,000 times at a record setting 51 race tracks in 23 states and Canada. I was the official NYRA bugler from 1987-1992 (Aqueduct and Belmont Park); The Downs @ Albuquerque & Santa Fe (1993); Delaware Park (1997-2000); The Meadowlands (2000-2010) & Parx (2014-2019). I was also the assistant bugler at Monmouth Park, (2000-2010). In September of 2020, one of my trumpets went on display at the National Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, NY.
