The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) partnered with vivo to launch the inaugural UA&P vivo Inter-Collegiate Futsal Tournament, which officially began on September 21, 2024. This exciting event promises to deliver intense competition among some of the country’s top university futsal teams and will be live-streamed every Saturday on the UA&P Men's Futsal Varsity Facebook page.
Before the tournament, the Vivo V40 with ZEISS Grand Launch took place on September 18, featuring high-profile endorsers including Anne Curtis, Maine Mendoza, NBA legend Robert Horry, Net25 StarKada influencers, actress and brand model Sofi Fermazi, and in-demand host Nicky Gilbert. The event was further graced by Net25 President Caesar Vallejos and influencer directors Eric Quizon and Perry Escaño, drawing considerable attention and enthusiasm.
Organized by the UA&P Physical Education Department and the Men’s Futsal Varsity Team, the tournament is set to run every Saturday until November 2024 at the UA&P gymnasium. Glenn Chiu, vivo Assistant Brand Marketing Manager, emphasized the brand's commitment to promoting fitness and innovation during his opening remarks. “We’re proud to partner with UA&P’s Futsal Team, as it aligns with our passion for promoting an active lifestyle and excellence. This tournament is a testament to the positive impact sports bring to communities,” he stated.
This year's league features renowned university teams, including UA&P, the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Enderun Colleges, Rizal Technological University, University of Makati, and Treston International College.
The tournament kicked off with a remarkable performance from the UA&P Men’s Futsal Team, who dominated UPLB with a score of 13-3. Enderun Colleges also showcased their prowess, defeating Treston International College 7-2, setting the tone for a thrilling season ahead.
Adding to the excitement, vivo organized a raffle at the launch event, offering exclusive prizes like speakers, bags, and Bluetooth earbuds. They also established a two-day booth to invite students to join the vivo Club, which provides exclusive perks such as internship opportunities and special event invitations, fostering connections between students and the brand.
