One of the things I wanted to share in my last video that didn't fit the script is Ron. I needed thicker pieces of cherry for my tests and Ron's fb marketplace listing showed up on my feed. So I hopped on the car and ventured out into rural parts of my state to buy these gorgeous wood from a guy who single handedly operates a woodworking business and a sawmill. We exchanged good conversations and shared some humanity together, knowing our passion for woodworking is what brought us together for that day. He was gracious with his time and even helped deliver some of the lumber to my house (because I have a hoarding problem with lumber and I can't help myself).
I always prefer to source lumber from owner-operated sawmills because it takes passion and hard work to turn a log into useable lumber. There is so much more human touch in the deliberate process than commercially produced lumber. Does it make a difference at the end of the day for the video? Probably not. But I am always thankful for people like Ron who are passionate, humble, hard working, and play an integral part in my videos that you don't normally get to see. And I wanted to share a slice of that humanity with you.
PS- the fluffy quality inspector can sniff FAS lumber better than most people I know.

Making good progress on the bow tie video. It’s crazy how much effort and precision goes into the methodology for months and everything gets crushed in a day.
And, I got a high speed camera few days ago because I’ve always wanted to analyze and show slow-mo footage of the destruction to you guys.
This one is going to be interesting for sure!

Hi all. It’s been a while! Quick updates:
Screw video is on hold until I can do the tests some justice. Even though I have to play the YouTube algorithm game and a lot of details get edited out, I still try to do my best in making sure the tests are well considered. I just need to solve a few hiccups before filming.
In the meantime, I’ve got a bowtie testing video in process that will come out in 2-3 weeks.

It is pretty common to get messages like this and while it is flattering, I want you guys to know that you will never see sponsored content in a testing video where the subject matter being tested is sponsored. It’s just wrong on so many levels.
