Anticipate anyone walking towards a Zebra crossing will step on it, as the highway code says you MUST stop if they do! Immediately you spot the crossing and pedestrians approaching check your interior mirror, cover the brake (this automatically reduces your speed) and as they get closer start breaking (progressively). If they do want to cross you should be able to stop safely, if they walk pass then Mirror check and back on the gas.
This is what the DVSA examiner expects to see, anything else and you let yourself down. Start practising today, as it doesn't happen naturally.
