Following Charles Wesley Godwinâs 2023 critically acclaimed Family Ties, the rising musician returns with a stunning 7-track EP, Lonely Mountain Town. A more contemplative affair than Family Ties, Lonely Mountain Town contains some of the most thrilling songs of Godwinâs career. Written principally on the road, the EP is at its heart a collection of snapshots and quiet moments in life set to tune: these are tales of a traditional country-songwriting mindset. Godwin's worked on the EP with key collaborators, from his longtime producer and guitarist, Al Torrence, to his labelmate ERNEST (âDead To Rightsâ), and even one of his musical heroes, Scott Avett (a cover of Jason Molinaâs âHammer Downâ).
Alongside his longtime band, the Allegheny High, CWG has developed a reputation as a thrilling, beautifully raucous live performer. Following his Stagecoach and Bonnaroo debuts in 2024, he returns to the road for a slew of sold-out shows in conjunction with the release of Lonely Mountain Town.
