Today I was walking through a beautiful garden in Austria and came across a well-pruned and cultivated lantana shrub. It was absolutely stunning - but it got me thinking.
Lantana is considered a highly invasive weed in many countries, including Australia. Yet despite this, in this setting, it was carefully managed and controlled, used purely for ornamental beauty.
This experience reminded me how important it is to choose plants that are native to your own environment. They’re better for the soil, the wildlife, and the future of your garden.
