A special Mother's Day to THE MUM in CHIEF: My Mum, Mrs. Susan Ngigi.
I share the thoughts below of an email I received back in Safaricom days!! SFC people might remember it!!
MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME:
LOGIC: “If you fall off that swing and break your neck, you can’t go to the store with me,”
MEDICINE: “If you don’t stop crossing your eyes, they’re going to freeze that way.”
TO THINK AHEAD: “If you don’t pass your spelling test, you’ll never get a good job!”
TO MEET A CHALLENGE: “What were you thinking? Answer me when I talk to you… Don’t talk back to me!”
HUMOR: “When that slasher cuts off your toes, don’t come running to me.”
TO BECOME AN ADULT: “If you don’t eat your vegetables, you’ll never grow up.
MY GENETICS: “You are just like your father!”
MY ROOTS: “Kikuyu’s don’t “kuagarara”
WISDOM of AGE: “When you get to be my age, you will understand,”
ANTICIPATION: “Just wait until your father gets home.”
RECEIVING: “You are going to get it when I get you home.”
DEEP PRAYERS: “You better pray that by the time your Dad comes, I have changed my mind”
TIME TRAVEL: “If you don’t straighten up, I’m going to knock you into the middle of next week!”
FORESIGHT: “Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you’re in an accident.”
OSMOSIS: “Shut your mouth and eat your supper!”
CONTORTIONISM: “Will you *look* at the dirt on the back of your neck!”
STAMINA: “You’ll sit there until I come back.”
WEATHER: “It looks as if a tornado swept through your room.”
EXAGGERATION: “If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a million times: Don’t Exaggerate!”
THE CIRCLE OF LIFE: “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.”
BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION: “Stop acting like your father!”
TO TURN THE OTHER CHEEK: If you tried to block a slap, you will have to explain to the nuclear family, extended family, church leadership, the village chief, why you were trying to beat your mother!
PRIVILEDGE: “There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don’t have wonderful parents like you do!”
JUSTICE: “One day you will have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you. Then you’ll see what it’s like! I can’t wait!”
Thank you Mum, for all the things you taught me!

At times you may feel that time is passing by, and you feel stagnated. As long as you are working towards your dream, something is happening, although you might not have any evidence at hand to show it.
At this time I am reminded of one of the scientific law:
EMERSON'S LAW OF COMPENSATION:
The universe is like a math equation. You are on one side of the equal’s sign and the world is on the other. Whatever you put in is always equal exactly to what you get out, over time. The longer it takes for the result of an action to make its way back to your side, the more INTEREST IT ACCRUES.
Continue working, waking up early, praying, planning, encouraging yourself, executing...One day, people will call you LUCKY, they will say your connections have helped you, they will say your beauty has helped you rise, they will say your family name has given you advantage.
What they will NOT SEE is the years you spent toiling towards your dream. GOLD MEDALS are not earned on the day the world is watching. They are made on the 3:00AM morning runs on Ngong hills, Nandi Hills, Iten ...
What the fans celebrate, is a culmination of many days, cold morning, quiet mornings, tough coaches, falling and getting bruised, zero fans, muddy running trails, rain, poor visibility et cetera.
Keep working towards that dream. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised!

To my departed sister Delphina Wambui Ngigi ❤️❤️❤️, my heart is still broken by your unexpected and tragic departure. BUT, your life is forever celebrated. As we mourn you, we celebrate a courageous and loving mum. This Mothers Day has a void, that you have left behind, We love you forever and ever.
Happy Mothers Day to Me-self ❤️❤️❤️ according to reports, I do a pretty descent mum-ing job!
I acknowledge and celebrate all the amazing mothers - present and future - ❤️❤️❤️who regardless of their circumstances, continue to nurture and teach their children great values, so that they can attain their divine destiny.
I celebrate all the men who lead, provide and protect their families in the way, that God commands, that make motherhood possible.
May your families be filled with love and encounter progress.
