Last year, I invested £5000 into PLTR stock. Today that £5,000 is now worth £30,000.

The best part is if I want to Sell it today, it will only take seconds, and the cash will be in my bank account within hours. No stress.

PLTR has exploded with over 500% growth in just a year and a bit.

Meanwhile, my friend bought plots of land. But he’s land hasn’t appreciated as much. And even worse is that she’s been trying to sell it for months but hasn’t gotten a serious offer.

This is the difference between Liquid wealth and illiquid wealth. Sure, property is a good investment but only if you’re ready to hold it for a very long time.

Income generating assets are more important. If you can’t quickly turn an investment into cash or use it when you need it, it’s not really yours.

So remember, before you put your money somewhere, ask yourself: Can I sell it fast? Can I use it in an emergency? Or am I just stuck waiting for someone to show up.

Inflation is real. Prices are up, interest rates are wild, and yet some are still living like it’s a free-for-all. Now isn’t the time to blow money on what won’t matter in 5 years. Budget tight. Stack smart. Move wisely.

7 Money lessons you should know before you turn 40

This is the financial maths no one teaches you and if you don't understand this, your money won't grow or have any value.

1. Net Worth Calculation: This is your Assets minus liabilities = your true financial picture. Example your investments minus your expenses.

2. Rule of 72: This tells you how long it'll take your money to double (72 ÷ interest rate)

3. Budgeting math: This shows you how to split your income: example, the 50/30/20 rule which allocates your income towards 50% needs, 30% wants, 20% savings.

4. Time Value of Money: This tells you why £100 today is worth more than £100 next year.

5. Credit Utilisation Ratio & loan interest rate
The real cost of borrowing. The percentage of your credit limit you're using (for credit score health).

6. Emergency Fund Formula: 3 to 6 months of expenses. Know your monthly spend and multiply by 3 or 6.

7. Retirement Goal Math: Tells you how muchyou need to retire? (e.g., the 25x rule = 25x your annual expenses).
Calculate your annual expenses and multiply it by 25.

People ask me:
“Where do I start with financial freedom?”

I say:
Start with £10.
Seriously.

With £10, you can:
• Open a beginner-friendly investment account
• Buy a book or ebook that teaches money skills
• Try a week of meal prep instead of UberEats
• Start a side hustle on a shoestring budget

It’s not about how much, it’s about how intentionally.
If you treat £10 with respect, £10,000 will follow suit
