JOE GILLS is a weekend singer in the NYC 🗽area, songwriter, & showman for "The Action Park 1980s Dance Band" & guests for "Joey G's Allan Freed 1950s Rock & Roll show." Gills hosts “The King of Smule Show" since 2019 and has 8000 + followers on Smule worldwide. He currently writes songs produced in Nashville.
Prior to a three decade "music pause" Joe was active during the 1980s north -New Jersey music teen scene as the front man for the locally popular Jersey Cruisers, which performed over 300 shows & enjoyed some local notoriety being featured on the Jerry Lewis Telethon. In the early 90s he co-created The Slap 5's, a zany original country band that played in bars in NYC area including CBGBs. In 1992, Gills got married, had a family, stored his guitar away.
