One of my favourite tapes from the 90s. Played many a time after a day of record shopping.

Force & Styles - Harmony - UK Dance.

Harmony is just a full-on, head-down stomper of a track. From memory it’s the last we did with a sampled female vocal, all be it, just the ‘Harmony’ part. We remember clearly sitting in the studio at that point visualising a bouncier dance floor, coming up with a part, and just playing it over and over again. This would often be the build-up to when a kick drops. No word of a lie; we’d be jumping around like kids on Christmas Day when something worked.
Harmony was one of those moments!!

We’d always loved acid lines, and whilst DJing at Oscars on Clacton Pier, one of our biggest finishing tracks was The Trancer by D-Tox. The slow, long buildup would drive the crowd absolutely wild until the last and furious beats were unleashed and mayhem would descend on the dance floor. I guess Harmony was our little not of appreciation to The Trancer.

It certainly created carnage amongst many a crowd; it was meant to; that was the game plan. If you can make the floor jump, you’ve done your job, and so when you get those moments in a studio and you find yourself involuntary jumping around to a section of music you’ve just created, you know you’re half way there!
