We are so excited to announce that our new live album and concert film is OUT NOW!!!š„³š„šµ
On August 6th, 2024 at the Inbal Theater, we recorded our first-ever live album! Performing as a quartet with brand new, stripped down arrangements, we celebrated almost ten years of music in this intimate concert in our home town of Tel Aviv š
The album is fresh out of the oven and will take a few weeks to arrive at all the major streaming services, so in the meantime go to the links in our comments for exclusive audio and video downloads!Ā
We hope you enjoy it half as much as we enjoyed making it! ā¤ļø

Last night we were so honored to be invited to play Psalm 23 for the Sharabi family whose two sons Yossi and Eli were kidnapped from Kibbutz Beāeri on October 7th. Please pray for this grieving family as they mourn the devastating death of Eliās wife and Daughters, and pray for Eli and Yossiās swift and safe return. The heartbreak is unfathomableš

Over the past few weeks weāve been going out into nature š here in Israel with our good friend, cinematographer Roāi Maayan, capturing scenes that we feel compliment our music. One by one over the coming weeks we plan on releasing all 13 tracks from our latest album āEshkonaā in the form of simple music videos that we hope will enhance your listening experience, especially for those of you who like to read along with the help of subtitlesš«¶
Weāre proud to present to you our first video, Ezkera. Link to full video in bio

We want to thank all of you, our followers and listeners from around the world, for your support throughout this whole processā¦ā¤ļø
it took longer than any of us thought it would, but right now all we feel is delighted that this music is finally out.
We especially want to thank those of you who, through our Bandcamp page, gave above-and-beyond. Without people like you, we could neither make this album, nor continue to function as a band. Thank you, from our whole hearts! š You know who you are.
We also want to give our heartfelt thanks to the many friends who took part in the actual making of the album. There are too many to mention here, but we want to especially mention three peopleā¦
First, our producer and recording engineer, Shachar Kaufman! š When we came to you, we were feeling stuck. We could only take these songs so far by ourselves, but your wealth of experience, knowledge, talent, and sensitivity gave us exactly what we needed! We truly couldnāt have made this album with anyone else.
Second, we want to thank our mix engineer, Dan Zeitune, who put his whole heart into this project, and whose taste and touch set the final tone of this album, and we couldnāt be more pleased!š«¶
And third, we also want to thank our album cover artist and illustrator, Noa Goffer! š„°Creating visual accompaniment to music can be a really difficult thing, but when we look at our album cover⦠it feels to us like the perfect visualisation of what we tried to do with the music. Weāre so grateful and lucky to have worked with you Noa!
Thanks to all of you, and Baruch HaShem, ש××××¢× ×!š„³

Disappointing news⦠šwe woke up this morning to NOT find our new album on Spotify and Apple Music as expected. Apparently there was a technical error in the album submission, and the error notification went to our āspamā folder, so we didnāt see it. We are working hard today to fix the problem and figure out the soonest possible new release date. We will let you know as soon as we know. Thank you all for your support and patience!ā¤ļø

Miqedem (the ancient Hebrew word for āof oldā or alternately, āfrom the eastā) is a band whose music is best described as Israeli indie folk, with heavy influences from Middle-Easten and North African music styles, often utilizing microtonal scales, irregular time signatures, and regional instruments. Hailing from Tel Aviv, Israel, Miqedemās music reflects a recent resurgence of interest in regional music within the Israeli music scene, a trend found in artists such as Riff Cohen, Yemen Blues, A-Wa and many others.
Miqedemās most unique contribution is their exclusive reliance on ancient Hebrew Scripture in their lyrics, drawing most heavily on the poetry of the Psalms.
The band includes : Jamie Hilsden, Yaron Cherniak, Shai Sol and Vadym Sokolyk.
Formed in 2015, the band has toured extensively across North America and Europe, has released two full-length studio albums, and on February 2nd they will release their third album, āEshkonaā (I will rest).
