A very interesting read about 'Smalltown Boy' and how the song is considered the 'Ultimate LGBTQ-Anthem'. Who would have thought it 40 years ago? A huge step forward but it's not over yet. The struggle continues!

For a Friend was released this week in 1988
The song was written in memory of Mark Ashton, a friend of Jimmy and Richard’s. Mark was a gay rights activist and co-founder of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM). The track also featured on the soundtrack for the 2014 film Pride. Listen to the song here: communards.lnk.to/red35 JS HQ.
