Yellow Springs legend Jason Sine stars in "Maitreya." The song is inspired by the life of Craig V. Smith, who wrote songs for the Monkees, Glen Campbell, Andy Williams, and other recording artists in 1965-1969. In 1970, he declared himself Maitreya, the long-prophecied Fifth Buddha, mankind's savior. He spent the next 42 years living on the streets around Los Angeles.

Premiering tomorrow: Toadstool Shadow's "Sombra del Hongo" music video, co-starring the inimitable Steve Hetzler. Having starred in music videos by Speaking Suns ("When You Were") and Issa Ali & Merq (go right now to 1:40 of "Celebrate"), it is the unwritten rule of Yellow Springs' music videos that, to be a genuine Yellow Springs music video, Steve MUST appear in your video.

Toadstool Shadow is a folk trio from Chillicothe, Ohio. Three cousins, they have entertained festival audiences across southern Ohio since 2023. Their all-original songs are about things like horses, mermaids, and corn, all sung in sunshiny two-part female harmony. Mixing music and humor, Toadstool Shadow seamlessly synthesizes the silly, the serious, and the surreal. Their goal is to provide family-friendly entertainment that is fun for both kids and adults.
