Training to still our minds is a skill that we need to learn to achieve a peaceful and meditative state.
Only when our mind has reached a calm state can we then fully utilize the inner strength within ourselves.
When our inner strength is being used to its full potential, then inner happiness will arise.
This inner happiness is true happiness. It is permanent

- it will not revert to suffering
- and it is constant
- you will not need to find other sources of happiness to replace it.

Join our daily meditation session to detox your mind and get the benefits of meditation with a Buddhist monk to lift up your spirit.😇🙏✨

Some people have been doing good things all their life but still, bad things happen to them. Why?

When we talk about Karma, people usually ask this question a lot “Why do bad things happen to good people?” To begin with, Karma is an intentional action that leads us to following consequences. Good Karma will lead to positive consequences while bad Karma will lead to negative consequences.

On the contrary, there is a situation when good people suffer. They have been doing good things all their life but they didn’t receive what they deserve. Another case study is when some people who have been doing bad stuff all their life but good things keep happening to them and this seems to contradict to the nature of the Karma. What goes around comes around.

Doing a Karma is like planting seeds of our actions. If we plant a good seed, we are going to enjoy the fruits of a good tree in the future. Even it takes time for a Karma tree to produce its fruits, but it is happening the same as bad seed as well.

It takes light 8 minutes to travel from the sun to us. The picture of the sun we see is of 8-minute ago. It is the same for karma as well. It means that our life at the moment is a collection of our past karmas and the karma we are doing now is going to give results in the future.

For those who suffer and don’t receive what they deserve, please keep in mind that they are not facing the result of their present Karmas but their past Karmas instead. If we consider the fact that Karmas from the past are giving results at the present moment we may understand the situation better.

No one really receives only the results of either good or bad Karmas completely. If we look at it this way, no soul remains good or bad forever. We are all under the effects of our own Karmas.

If we are still alive, we have opportunities to create new Karmas and design our future.

If you plant rice, you will get rice.
if you plant beans, you will get beans.
If you plant apples, you will get apples.

Whatever seed or plant you put, will grow to give the fruit later in the future, so that’s how it works. However, if good karma is rice and bad karma is bean.

Each day we grow both types of plants all the time; when you get up in the morning in a very good mood; you feel happy and calm, you speak nicely to everybody, but then you get into your car and drive to work, get stuck in traffic, you get upset and yell at people. That’s how you plant different seeds in the whole day, they are a combination of positive and negative seeds.

The hard part is that we don’t know how these effects are going to come into our life because it doesn’t work like rice and beans.
If you plant rice, within 3 month you can harvest the rice and get a lot of crops, but if you plant apples it will take 3 years for the apple tree to give the fruit and it will continue bearing fruit for another 10 years, which is different from rice.

Karma is very hard to understand in the sense that we don’t know whether the fruit that we plant today will give the result tomorrow or some years later and that’s why people tend to forget about their karma because sometimes it takes a very long time for the effect to happen. Not to mention that some situations can be the result of a combination of positive and negative karma. For example, you get into trouble and at the same time there is somebody to help you out, those effects are the result of the combination of bad and good karma in the past, you did something bad against somebody but you also have good karma of helping others so those things combine to become that situation in your life.

We have a belief meditation should be done only in nature with calmness with less to distraction at all. Is it really true?

Should we only meditate in nature? Where to meditate is second to how often you meditate.
