I will be teaching a class on thermal cycling at Blade Show Atlanta June 7. These are images showing the property improvements I was able to achieve with several steels. This includes all new results for stainless steels AEB-L and MagnaCut. Information on how to process stainless steels after forging for bladesmiths is scant so this was a fun study. But I will also include a lot of information on low alloy and carbon steels. Tickets are available on the Blade Show website.
I haven’t been this excited about a new study in a while. Biggest study of pattern-welded Damascus ever. We even found cases where Damascus cuts longer than individual steels. A lot of surprises. Damascus vs. Super Steels - Testing a Dozen Different Damascus Steels!
