About Softly:
Most of the time, I feel like I need to be moreâmore profound, more intellectual, more technically impressive. But the truth is, I just like sitting at the piano, letting my fingers, my feelings, and the world around me guide me. Perhaps, music doesnât have to prove anything to be worth something. This piece is a small attempt at letting go of that weight, at allowing simplicity to take shape and welcoming honest exploration without questioning whether itâs enough.
It is also a reflection of home. There is something in the rhythm, in the way the melodies move, that reminds me of the music I grew up with in Peru. Maybe my rootsâwhatever that truly meansâare starting to find their way into what I create. Softly feels like a moment of that unfolding.
Finally, it was one of the first pieces I wrote on my new piano. Without the added resonance of the sustain pedal, the notes felt more vulnerable and their shape more defined. I followed where the piece wanted to go, letting small embellishments and pauses slip in naturally. Perhaps that is why it feels fleetingâlike a thought that forms, lingers for a moment, and then disappears before you can fully hold onto it.

And so the tour for "Muerte en una tarde de verano" comes to an end. Thanks so much for coming to the shows, for your attentive listen and inspiring energy, and for all the love and support you gave my music during and after each performance. My heart is full.Â
This was my biggest tour to date, with sixteen shows across twelve cities in seven countries. I performed in the middle of a forest in Czech Republic accompanied by five contemporary dancers. I shared the stage twice with the loveliest Silvana Estrada âan artist I admire deeply and whose music has been a precious companion during the yearsâ in Berlin and Hamburg. I performed in two mesmerizing churches in Amsterdam, and in an art gallery that used to be a swimming pool in DĂźsseldorf. I travelled north for the first time and played shows in Copenhagen and Stockholm, and went back to Peru after a very long time to perform in one of its most beautiful teathers. It was wonderful to meet so many of you, to visit old friends and to make new ones along the way.Â
My endless gratitude goes to the people that made this tour possible (you know who you are). None of these shows would have happened without you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And a very special shout-out to the incredible artists I shared the stage with: Silvana Estrada, Cedric Vermue, Jakob Lindhagen, Vargkvint, Lazorrazapata, Buen Jose, James Heather, Brueder Selke, Jaime del Adarve, Mazoch, Tim Linghaus, Sofi Paez, Kelly James Wyse, Klangriket, Andert Tysma, and Teodor Wolgers. You are so inspiring.

Listening to Peruvian pianist and composer Sergio DĂaz De Rojas feels like waking up with soft sunlight on your face. His songs are raw yet soft, like terracotta and honey, and flow through the world like a tranquil river.
As the seasons shift and the world grows quieter, Sergio prepares to unveil his third album: Forgotten Fragments, a delicate mosaic of sound capturing the fleeting beauty of creation. Born from quiet improvisations and rediscovered voice memos, these shy yet emotive pieces reflect Sergioâs deepening bond with his new piano and his desire to give life to moments that nearly slipped away.
To celebrate the album, Sergio will embark on a new European tour, sharing these intimate compositions in spaces where their resonance can truly be felt. Forgotten Fragments invites listeners to embrace the beauty in what was almost lostâa poignant meditation on the fragments that shape us all.
