I live in a retirement community and when we moved here six years ago, I was scandalized to hear stories of how people had been victimized by phone and internet scams. Residents just didn't have the background or information on what to look for or how to avoid becoming a victim. I've had a fair amount of computer experience through my job as Learning Resources Director and CIO at a small community college, so I put together a series of programs on how to protect yourself. When the pandemic hit, it was no longer possible to do programs in person, so I started a monthly newsletter that all residents get that explains various types of scams and how to avoid them. I also started an online zoom class on basic computer usage that attracts 6-8 people biweekly. But... I felt I needed to be more proactive in attacking the problem and that's when I researched scambaiting trying to do something. This channel is the result. I don't edit, just put them up to provide an authentic experience.
