The Maren Sanchez Home Foundation offers programs that educate and empower girls and young women to defend themselves against emotional, psychological and verbal manipulation and physical violence.
The foundation was created in honor of Maren Sanchez, a 16-year-old girl who lived in Milford, CT. She was a musician, actress, artist, volunteer, organizer, babysitter, entrepreneur, photographer and an amazing friend to all who knew her. She was tragically killed by a classmate in her high school on the morning of her prom on April 25th, 2014. Maren had refused the boy's proposal to the prom. On the morning of the event, in retaliation, the boy killed Maren at their high school. The murder made headlines worldwide. Since the devastation of that day, Maren's mom, Donna Cimarelli founded the Maren Sanchez Home Foundation to share the lessons learned from that tragic day and potentially save lives.
