Leonard Goldberg (born in Essen, Germany in 1991) comes from a long line of musicians. He has been featured on both the national and international stage from young adulthood and has since furthered his career after having won the āGerman Music Competitionā. In 2020, he became the first Principal Cellist of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra.
Goldberg has been writing music since his youth, and his compositions bring life and variation to the seemingly ordinary cello notes. Goldberg not only writes; but often pushes the boundaries of his compositions with new playing techniques, "I want to tell stories with my music, music thatās emotional- not just interesting sounds that Iām hearing". His top priorities lie in the joy of music and the never-ending possibilities in composition, style and technique.
Goldberg plays a 1712, Pietro Giacomo Rogeri cello made in Italy, loaned to him
from the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra.
