We are a family of 4 in an oceanfront suburban town on the east coast of the United States. We have about 1.5 acres of land and a colonial farmhouse that was built in 1750. Our home was occupied by British soldiers during the revolutionary war!
We raise our own fruits and vegetables from our large, in-ground garden and have several fruit trees in various stages of production. We believe in sustainable food systems and regenerative agriculture. We have chickens for eggs and meat, rabbits for compost/manure, and Nigerian Dwarf Goats for milk.
I have been passionate about urban and suburban homesteading for years, and when I’m not working on “the farm,” I’m at work as an emergency room nurse.
I believe that health and wellness starts at home, and that climate intervention starts with the soil in our own backyards. I hope you learn something here and I hope you feel inspired to grow your own food in whatever space you have!
