Sorry friends for delay in posting. Have been recovering from a cold while traveling 🙃 not the best combo but it’s life… Hopefully will be back with lots of inspiration and new ideas very soon 🥰

Tried painting in acrylics after years. It’s inspired by a photo I took of my friend when we were vacationing in Thailand. There was a swing facing the ocean where we would sit and watch the sunset every day after dinner.

Style-wise I wanted to achieve a more abstract dreamy look in pastel tones.

I have been avoiding acrylic paintings for many years now due to lack of space in my apartment but it’s very fun to do every now and then. This one is going to be her birthday gift and I hope she’ll like it 🥰.

Sketching in my tiny sketchbook…
I have never been able to finish a whole sketchbook And recently I realized the format has been preventing me from doing so. Used to paint in larger format and it took much longer time to finish an idea. So I just bought a much smaller sketchbook and have already filled half of it in only one month. Also instead of wet medium I’m using only pens and markers. So it doesn’t take much time to dry compared to watercolors and gouache. I love to sketch in colors and deciding on color combinations is än important part of my sketching process. Then I turn favorite ones into larger paintings.

One of the most important things every artist should do in my opinion is gathering and looking for references. Have your phone camera ready, pay attention to your surroundings and capture the beauty. Observation is an important part of the process. I love sitting outside and paint but unfortunately the cold Swedish climate doesn’t allow it so I have got used to be ready for taking photos. And have just created a Pinterest board where I’ll be uploading them for all of you to use and get inspiration from.
