What happens when businesses try to grow indefinitely on a planet with finite resources? π
I can't believe I've never thought about this before starting the conscious design movement. π€―
Today I'd like to share an excerpt from The Craft's Sustainable Growth Playbook with you.
We're at the risk of global collapse.
MIT predicted this all the way back in 1972 that society will collapse this century. Turns out we are right on schedule.
Gaya Herrington created a new study that shows continuous growth is not possible and results in a collapse around 2040. Either we can continue business as usual or we can change.
Decentering economic growth would allow us to manage the shift while NOT affecting our welfare.
