Here is how you can find your true passion and what I learned on the journey to hit 100k views in 6 months of posting on YouTube.
I posted this video with something over 500 subscribers. It was my 8th video that I posted.
"How 3M proved YOU can build anything with $0"
I knew what I am going into. I knew the algorithm game and what I have to do in order to get noticed. As a new creator what I wasn't sure is if my content will appeal to people or If I will find a group of people, that can fit in one YouTube category or segment.
THE EARLY STRATEGY
I tried multiple topics to leverage my knowledge from marketing and business. I thought people will want a content where I help them avoid dirty sales tactics of big brands.
To be honest.
Every other video prior the most successful was just another topic to get clicks. I was targeting for views. I wanted to hit a huge video. My initial thought was if I create a content, that helps people not lose money, people will love it.
But I found out, people don't want to be told WHAT NOT TO DO. → Instead, tell them WHAT TO DO.
HOW I ACCIDENTALLY FOUND MY PASSION
I got an idea to make a video about the probably most boring company on the world, but to point out the business beauty in that gray story.
So I posted a bold video about 3M. I noticed something was different immediately after posting. People started to post comments. People were completely blown away. The video took off and got to 100k in no time.
During the process I discovered something important. I loved to do a few day research, a deep dive into the company, and the whole process of explaning how the company really succeeded. I rediscovered my passion in business and marketing.
If I should give you one piece of advice on growing on YouTube. Read about video packaging. You can create a video with a same topic zillion ways. Try to make that video in a way that is useful and that reflect your passion.
Oh, and don't try to copy what is already out there. Create something unique. You can really take the same topic and just change the perspective of that topic.
AND SO.... I STARTED SKOOL
It also ultimately led to creating a skool. I thought, It would be cool for likeminded people create a group that share the passion for massive exponential growth of companies.
Anyway, I hope you can learn from my discovery.
Maybe it is better to start with your passion first, regardless of business you are up to. The chances are, that is the right path, not chasing the clicks and big numbers. Imagine if you discover, that doing what you really enjoy is the right path. What a discovery.
Next milestone? 1M views 👀 ... just kidding, my goal is to keep posting these videos and where it will take me, that is to be discovered.
